About Bachelor of Information and Library Science

Bachelor of Information and Library Science (B.Lib.I.Sc) is a comprehensive undergraduate degree program designed to teach students about the art and science of library and information management. The program includes relevant avenues of library management such as library administration, distribution of information, and organisation of resources.

PO1	Demonstrate their understanding of the fundamental ideas, theories, and laws pertaining to the broad field of library and information science as well as its subfields, which include reference and information services, library management, types of libraries, and types of information sources.

Career Opportunities in Information and Library Science

Librarian

A librarian is mainly responsible for organising books based on subjects and genre, issuing books, and ensuring that returned books/audio/video files are catalogued appropriately.

Library Manager

A library manager oversees the overall working of a library. They are responsible for acquiring new books and informational media based on the needs of the establishment.

Library Consultant

A library consultant is a professional who is hired to set up a new library. They are tasked with acquiring relevant books and informational media to establish a new library or upgrade an existing library.
