LIB.I.SC Program Outcomes (PO)


PO1

To explore the research methods and techniques for LIS research, to apply metrics for evaluating LIS and research publications, to draft the current problems and solutions in the field of library and information science.

PO2 To aware of latest web technologies applied in the modernization of LICs, to have a critical and evaluative outlook on the web browser, services, markup languages and websites.
PO3 To update the marketing skills in delivering information products and services, to design a new plan and strategies on marketing the information products and services by undertaking suitable research on them.
PO4 To build the ability of knowledge creation, capturing, codification and issues in LIS, also to equip abilities in transferring and sharing knowledge from experts to developers through neural networks and find the solutions to legal and ethical issues arise from time to time.
PO5   To impart practical hands on experience in various Library and Information centers of national and international importance for career development, in the areas of creating information products, delivering information and documentation services, digital environment and monitoring public relations with both authorities and clients.
PO6 To develop soft skills and technical writing skills among learners such as communication and leadership skills, to upgrade reader – writer relationship and to improve the ability of collecting, editing and presenting technical communications, find solution to real time problems of Library and Information centers services, users etc by undertaking relevance project, covering managerial aspects, utility pattern, establishment of new theories and models and drafting development proposals to government, authorities and scientific and industrial organizations.
PO7 To generate, maintain and periodical updating of cognitive teaching and learning skills enabling professionals to work in LIS schools, to apply time management in creation, development and supply of information products and services considering demand, raise the professionals with excellence to develop knowledge societies for the upliftment of the nation and to organize group discussions, conference, seminars and workshop to have a critical outlook on development in the field of library and information science.
